Testimony

Reignite The Gift · Sunday 7 June 2026

This week the Lord gave me one word — "ignition" — and I couldn't understand what it meant. I said, "Lord, what does that mean?" And this morning he reminded me. It's in the book of Timothy, where it says, "Stir up the gift of God that is in you" — fan it into flame, as some translations put it. The Lord was simply reminding me to reignite what he has already put in us: the gifts and abilities, the good works Pastor David mentioned earlier, the things we can walk into. All it takes is that we remember to reignite those things, if perhaps we've put them to one side or haven't paid much attention to what the Lord has already blessed us with out of his abundance.

I also want to share something from outreach yesterday — it's really about the power of our testimony and what it can do in the life of others. I was speaking to a woman for some time, sharing the gospel, and you could tell she had a kind of patchwork Christianity, bits and pieces that she knew. As I shared my own testimony with her, she went quiet for a while, and then she opened up about some painful things from her past — things she had carried for a very long time. At the end she said, "Do you know, I've never told anyone this in my whole life." I just felt that, whatever the Lord was doing in that moment, the power of testimony put her so much at ease that she felt safe to share. So please do share your testimony, because it opens doors for people. We are that safe place where people can come and share.

Then I got to speak to about fifteen teenage boys, all in one group — it was quite awesome. I was sharing the gospel and I put a question to them: "How can the death of a man on a cross two thousand years ago help you today?" They all had various answers, some of them silly, but there's always one in the group the Lord is highlighting. He said, "To live a better life." I asked if any of them had a Bible — some just giggled, others said, "Oh yeah, I've got loads" — and there was one who said, "Can I have a Bible?" The same one who said he could live a better life through Christ. So I gave him a Bible. The teenagers do listen. They might be giggly among their friends, but there's always one who wants to receive from the Lord. Praise the Lord for everything he did at the outreach.

✠️ FROM THE WORD
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.

— Romans 8:28 (KJV)

What did the Lord say to you while reading this — and what will you do about it before the week is out?
