Testimony

Thursday Bible Study · Sunday 7 June 2026

I just wanted to share something the Lord has been working in my life recently.

I have a friend I went to school with — we're three or four years out of school now. He's very strong in his faith, and he helped me come back to mine. I remember one time we were on the PlayStation, talking, and he asked, "What's going on with your faith?" I said, "I don't know — I kind of believe, but I'm not sure," which is why I was still teasing around with it and not fully coming back to God. And he said, "Why don't you just commit? You know what you want, you just don't want to commit to it." He knew my background, that I'd come to God before.

Since I've come back to Christ, we've been talking more and the relationship has been building and building. He's Kenyan — raised in the UK — and he went back to Kenya in January. It's crazy: this whole time he was in the UK we were friends but not really close, and now we've become closer and closer, because the Lord set us up to have video calls and do Bible study every Thursday. It's really beneficial. He's four years stronger in his faith than I am, so he builds me up and we build each other up.

Sometimes it's a Thursday evening, I've just finished work and I'm tired, thinking, "Maybe it won't be that long tonight" — and every single time it's over two and a half hours. It's truly a blessing from God to build up my faith. I'd actually reached out to him and said we should start doing a Bible study, because I didn't really have one outside of church, and he said, "It's crazy — I was literally thinking the exact same thing." My spirit was telling me the same thing his was. So it was truly from God.

I'd encourage you, if you have a Christian friend you want to build that kind of relationship with, go for it — because it really fosters your faith. Even if I'm having a difficult week, it's so renewing, instead of only coming to church on Sundays to be renewed. It's a beautiful thing to have two young men building each other up in Christ, and we're already talking about growing it into a larger group and bringing other people in once it's strong enough between us. I just praise God for putting that in my life, because connection with other Christians is so important.

✠️ FROM THE WORD
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

— John 3:16 (KJV)

What did the Lord say to you while reading this — and what will you do about it before the week is out?
