First time at GCC?

You’re more welcome than you think.

Sunday at GCC is unhurried, friendly, and Bible-rooted. Here’s what to expect — so there are no surprises when you walk in.

Sunday at a glance

What happens, hour by hour.

  1. 9:10am
    Sunday prayer

Open to anyone — come if you want to, skip if you don’t. No pressure either way.

  2. 10:00am
    Doors open

Come in, find a seat, settle in. Someone will be happy to have a chat with you before we start. (Tea and coffee come after the service, not before.)

  3. 10:30am
    Service begins

Around 30–45 minutes of live worship, then Bible teaching grounded in scripture and made relevant for today — so you can listen, learn, and apply it to your life and make better choices based on the Word of God. Prayer ministry follows. Communion every other Sunday.

  4. 12:00–12:30pm
    Service ends

The service flows around 90 to 120 minutes — long enough for what God’s doing, never on a rush.

  5. Afterwards
    Refreshments & fellowship

Stay for as long or as little as you like. We’d love to meet you, but no one will follow you around if you’d rather slip out.

What about the kids?

Kingdom Kids runs during the service for ages 4–11. They learn the Bible at their level, sing, play, and meet Jesus.

Our children’s team is DBS-checked and safeguarding-trained.

Kids stay with you during opening worship, then go to Kingdom Kids for the teaching part. We never separate children from a parent until you’ve handed them over yourself.

Note: we don’t currently have a crèche for under-4s. Little ones are very welcome to stay with you in the service.

A few things to know

Honest expectations.

01

No pressure on you, ever.

We won’t ask you to stand up, introduce yourself, raise your hand, or do anything you’d rather not. Sit, listen, watch. That’s perfect.

02

Prayer ministry is normal here.

You might see prayer happen during the service — that’s normal at GCC. You don’t have to take part. If something looks unusual to you, it’s because the Holy Spirit is real, and we don’t pretend otherwise.

03

We take an offering — no pressure on visitors.

An offering is taken during the service. As a visitor, please don’t feel any pressure to give. You came — that’s the gift.

04

Communion every other Sunday.

We share bread and wine together every two weeks, remembering Jesus. Visitors are welcome to take part or pass — both are normal.

Who you’ll meet

Led by elders, not a celebrity.

Pastor David Hinton was made Pastor of GCC in October 2020, taking over from Pastor Roy Young — who anointed David as Pastor, Elder, and Overseer alongside Ashley Brooks, who serves as Elder and Evangelist.

If you have a specific question — about your visit, about faith, about prayer — just find one of the team in the welcome area or fill in the form below. We answer every message.

Tell us you’re coming

Let us look out for you on the day.

Optional — you don’t need to fill anything in to visit. But if you’d like to be looked-out-for, or want to ask a question first, this gets to us before Sunday.

How do you want us to handle your visit?

How long does the service last?

Usually 90 to 120 minutes — the service flows according to what the Holy Spirit is doing. We never rush.

What is the Bible teaching like?

Grounded in scripture and made relevant for today. We want the congregation to listen, learn, and apply it — so you can make better choices based on the Word of God.

Yes. Kingdom Kids runs during the service for ages 4–11. Under-4s stay with you (we don’t have a crèche yet).

Will you ask me for money?

No. Never. You can sit anywhere and stay anonymous if you want to.

Will you contact me after the service?

Only if you filled in the form above and ticked “please look out for me”. Otherwise we won’t.

I’m just curious about Christianity. Is this OK for me?
