Sometimes God Uses The Nhs · Sunday 4 October 2026

I had prostate cancer over seven years ago. My friends prayed for me, and I'm still alive and I'm still here. Some of the tests were particularly uncomfortable - a bit like going through a dark valley - but it was a case of buy one, get one free: they took out my prostate and my appendix.

I'm also recovering from a cataract operation - thank you for praying for me. And about forty years ago I had a growth on the iris of my eye. I ignored it at first; it was like looking through a mist, and it scared the living daylights out of me. Again my friends prayed for me, and the operation was a success.

Sometimes God heals directly. Sometimes he uses the National Health Service. So we do need to pray for the National Health Service - because as you know, they're having difficulties.

✠️ FROM THE WORD
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

— John 3:16 (KJV)

What did the Lord say to you while reading this — and what will you do about it before the week is out?
