The Testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy
Rev 19.6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! 7Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. 9Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him.
But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”] We understand here, the Apostle John, is so overwhelmed by what he sees and hears in heaven that he falls down to worship the angel, but is very quickly corrected.
We understand then ● Worship belongs to God alone. ● Angels and believers are fellow servants. ● The purpose of prophecy is to testify about Jesus, not to draw attention to the messenger.
The Testimony of Jesus
The central purpose of prophecy is to point to Jesus. All genuine prophecy ultimately bears witness to who Jesus is, His identity, His work, His death and resurrection, His kingdom, and His return. Jesus is the heart and focus of all prophecy.
See Some Examples
The Gospels provide prophetic revelation and Spirit-led words that point directly to Jesus. 1. Simeon prophesies about Jesus Luke 2:25–35 The Holy Spirit revealed to Simeon that he would see the Lord’s Christ before he died. When he saw Jesus, he declared that this child was God’s salvation and “a light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.” The prophecy was centred on Jesus. 2.
Anna speaks about Jesus
Luke 2:36–38. Anna, a prophetess, came into the temple and “spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.”] Her prophetic ministry pointed people to Christ and redemption through Him. 3. John the Baptist prophesies about Jesus John 1:29–34. John declares: “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” He identifies Jesus as the Son of God and the One who would baptise with the Holy Spirit.
This is a powerful example of prophecy testifying of Jesus. 4.Jesus explains the Scriptures concerning Himself. All scripture in the Old testament is a foreshadowing of the coming of Jesus Christ. Luke 24.44 Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” 45 And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures. 46Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48And you are witnesses of these things. 49 Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”
So the Promise of My Father Comes and is Here
Just after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost we have Peter making a proclamation and pointing to the scriptures.
Acts 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words. 15For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. 16But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 17‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. 18And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy.

Your old men shall dream dreams
April 2020 Church on Fire Dream [ I was in a big traditional church building and it was quickly filling up with many people of all ages. I went to sit in the front near but there was not much room as seats were close together and we were squashed. So I got up to find a place further down as all seats were taken.
A lady was there putting seats out for people as more were coming in. So I sat somewhere in the middle. It then started to get smoky in the church and I felt very tired and fell asleep. I could see the cause of the smoke was because the roof was on fire (and a great dragon was flying around and had set the roof on fire) I managed to wake myself up from the dream in the dream and I jumped up suddenly and said the roof is on fire but people ignored me and I walked to the back of the church and opened a window to get out.
Many people were still coming in and were also looking through the window that I opened. I went back in to the church with eyes open and observed the following It was 2 different church settings and I remember some traditional/religious type services and then, a woman flying around and people were astonished/ captivated/ bewitched with her.
I also met a Godly man who wanted to give the Word of God, but because of the distractions no place was found for the Word. There was some type of queue. He was waiting to give the Word but no place was found.] Dreams Ends. Context and some understanding
Corrupt Church. Flying Women
Rev 2.20
Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.
2 Corinthians 11:3 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. 15Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.
The Dragon
Rev 12.13 Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child. 14But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. 15So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. 16But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. 17And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.] The woman is Israel → the Messiah comes from her → Satan persecutes her → God preserves her → Satan makes war against her offspring → they keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
These are the saints—the people of God, the Church.
Effects of the Dream
When I had the dream, it was six months before I was made Pastor of the Church. Back in April, becoming Pastor was not something that was on my radar at all, until I was chosen to lead the Church. The result of that dream, which I believe was a warning, is in effect today in our services.
This is why we always begin the service with the presence of the Holy Spirit the One who birthed the Church at Pentecost and then the Word of God.
The Testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy
Many today in our Church have had dreams concerning God’s work, but also life, business, jobs, warnings, encouragement, guidance, vision and prophecy, since the words tell us in the last days [I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. 18And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy.]
The Holy Spirit Has Been Poured Out on You Also
The end-times Church, empowered by the Holy Spirit, will give the testimony of Jesus. Since we are all here as the Body of Christ, we should all be asking the Holy Spirit what He wants to give us and how He wants to use us. Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 12:7–11: “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.” The Holy Spirit gives different gifts to different people, but they all come from the same Spirit, and they are given for the profit of all.
What Spiritual Gifts Will You Receive?
For us today, we should all be eager to desire the spiritual gifts not for our own glory, but so that through them we can give more glory to God and build up His Church. Paul tells us: “Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.” And why? “But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.
Prophecy is not about making ourselves important. It is about edifying, exhorting and comforting people, and ultimately pointing them to Jesus.
The Testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy
Let us therefore be open to the Holy Spirit. Ask Him what He wants to give you. Ask Him how He wants to use you. And whatever gift He gives, let it be used in love, humility and obedience, for the building up of the Body of Christ and the glory of God. End in Prayer and Impartation
