The Dream And The Debt · Sunday 11 October 2026

I want to share something about dreams, because that's what the Holy Spirit put on my heart this morning. Some of you may be having dreams - dreams that might seem out of this world, because that's who God is. You might be questioning them, or ignoring them. But he really wants to impress on us the importance of what's behind your dreams - and it's only through a relationship with him that you get the revelation and the understanding. Don't interpret your dreams with carnal knowledge or dictionary knowledge; half the time the dream isn't about what it appears to show you. The deeper meaning comes in communion with him.

Here is one he gave me. When I first came to the UK, I still had a car loan back home, and I couldn't figure out how I would ever pay it off from here. When I first started my walk with the Lord, he gave me a dream: I was back home, I took out my wallet, and I had a lot of money and was paying people off. In the dream I knew I'd already paid others, and what remained in my wallet wasn't a lot - but it was just enough. When I woke up, I knew the dream was about that loan. But I said: Lord, I'm here, I'm not working - how? It just didn't make sense. That's who he is - sometimes he doesn't make sense, and that's where faith and trust come in.

About two weeks after that dream, I got a message out of the blue. I used to be a school teacher back home, and the principal of my old school - who I hadn't spoken to in years - called to say someone from the Ministry of Education was trying to contact me about back pay. I had no idea I was entitled to anything. Church, I kid you not: the arrears, added to the savings I still had in that same account, paid off my loan completely - and left me with just enough, exactly like the dream.

So pay attention to your dreams. Don't take them for granted, and don't try to figure them out yourself - that's the Holy Spirit's job. Commune with him, and take time, because patience is also a fruit of the Spirit. He will reveal it in due time. And keep the relationship not just to figure out the dream - but just for him.

✠️ FROM THE WORD
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.

— Romans 8:28 (KJV)

What did the Lord say to you while reading this — and what will you do about it before the week is out?
