Psalm 22 Tract · Sunday 8 March 2026

We're all taking a breath this morning. We have our health, and I thank the Lord for that and for the health of the church. Yesterday afternoon I went for a little walk and met the pastor, his wife, and a few others. Then I went up the lane and the Lord's timing is amazing. A man was coming towards me walking his dog, wearing ear muffs. I gave him a tract and said, "Jesus loves you." He went, "What?" I said it again — "Jesus loves you." And he said, "Yes, I know," and pulled out his cross. I asked him his story. He said he'd heard of Jesus the man but never took any notice, and he'd gone looking into new age and Sikhism and that kind of thing. He said it's rubbish — he'd always sought the truth but never found it. He had a real down time. Then he opened the Bible and went to Psalm 22 and just could not believe what he was reading — it was the truth, talking about Jesus coming into the world. He told his mum, "Look, this is the truth, it's the truth." And there and then he gave his life to the Lord. As he was telling me, under his glasses he was wiping away the tears. He found Jesus.

I'll share one more for encouragement, from the Open Doors magazine. North Korea is number one in the world for persecution of Christians. A husband and wife escaped North Korea into China — caught either side, they'd be killed or thrown back. They were hiding in the hills, and a man came and met them. They told him to go away, but he said no, I've got food. He gave them food and clothing and a tent and left. A day later he came back with a Bible. They were very suspicious because in North Korea they're told missionaries are kidnappers, but he said, "Take it — you don't have to read it." They read a bit; it didn't make sense to them. But Jesus spoke to her in a dream. The next time he came, they wanted to know more. The fourth time he came, they had packed everything to go with him. And then the Lord spoke to them and told them to go back into North Korea. The husband got the same sense. They went. And after a time they sent a message back saying, "Now we're a family of five." Truly amazing. On the streets on a Friday people are coming up to me now saying, "Well done — the message needs to get out." With the war and everything happening, people are recognising that preaching the gospel, preaching the truth, is wonderful. I'm on holiday next week — if any of you are off, please join me. If there's a parade of shops near you or a place we haven't reached, let me know after the service. Let's be like that family who went back into North Korea to preach the gospel. Thank you, Lord.

✠️ FROM THE WORD
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
