Testimony
I want to say thank you to the Lord for the generosity and hospitality of various believers I met this week. I also want to thank the Lord for the privilege of meeting a couple of people. One is a young lad who's a missionary in training, and another is a much older pastor. Both of them shared their testimonies with me this week — and both had come from Hindu backgrounds and had gone through seasons of their life being very depressed and suicidal.
The older chap said it was the 23rd of May 1983 — about 43 years ago, yesterday. He had actually made a plan to end his life. He was going to leave his home and go into the sea — he'd had enough. But before he left the door, he just said this prayer: "God, I don't know your name. I don't know if you exist. But if you're there, then reveal yourself to me." Then there was a knock on the door and it was his brother. He wasn't expecting his brother to turn up at all, but his brother took him out. They decided to stay together for a bit, and a few days later they both ended up trying out a church service. He heard the gospel. His heart was completely touched and broken — hearing the gospel message of the forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ — and he was saved. Since then he's helped to start up a number of churches. His life has just been incredible.
The younger lad, similarly, said he was going through a really hard time and had suicidal thoughts. Then one day he had a vision of Jesus Christ and just saw the blood from the cross pouring down — and this revelation that Jesus had died for him. He was completely changed from that. He managed to get hold of a Bible, found out he needed to be baptised, and then sometime later he decided to quit his job, believing the Lord had plans for his life. He's now been doing training to do missionary work and to share the gospel wherever he goes.
So we just want to give glory to God. He is worthy. He's so good. He does things in the big ways, but also in the small ways. The Holy Spirit leads us with the big decisions that we make, but he also points out where we need to change. And I'm thankful to the Holy Spirit for convicting me whenever I need convicting — both of sin, but also of righteousness. Praise the Lord and glory to his name.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.

What did the Lord say to you while reading this — and what will you do about it before the week is out?
