Led By The Spirit Like A Child · Sunday 13 September 2026

This week I wasn't feeling too well. We teach our little boy about praying for someone who is in pain — to lay hands on them and pray for healing — but the thing is, we never show him what to do or how to pray. We just say, "If my head is hurting, can you pray for my head?" and then he does what he chooses to do. And I would say ninety-five times out of a hundred, he doesn't pray for the thing you told him you needed prayer for. He prays and he touches your whole body — your head, your foot, your arm, your belly.

Yesterday it was just him and me, and I said, "I'm not feeling too well — can you pray for mummy's side?" And again, he just did what he chose to do. And the Lord showed me that that is being led by the Holy Spirit — because he didn't pray for the thing I wanted prayer for. He prayed for whatever God was leading him to pray for, and he touched my head, my feet, my arms, my stomach, saying "Amen. Amen, in Jesus' name. Amen."

I said, "Wow, Lord — when you say 'like a child', you really mean it." Sometimes we want to do a lot, and sometimes it doesn't take a lot. It just takes faith and trust in God, to be led by Him and to do it the way He sees fit. I give God the glory, because He is teaching me through my son all the time.

✠️ FROM THE WORD
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.

— Romans 8:28 (KJV)

What did the Lord say to you while reading this — and what will you do about it before the week is out?
