Testimony
My testimony is entitled "Don't doubt your impact" — the impact that something you might think is small can make.
A bit of a backstory. I'm finished school now, but while I was at school I was running a Christian society. From September when I took over, it was like "OK, we're going to win souls for the Kingdom, we're going to have people on fire for Jesus" — all these big agendas, this big vision for it. Some things went well, some things didn't go to plan, by the grace of God.
There were these two girls in particular who came. They were also part of a different society I went to — the Economic Society. So when I'd see them there I'd realise, "Oh, you come to Christian Society." I wanted to get to know them more. I just really wanted people to be on fire for Jesus, but I didn't know where to go about it because I didn't know where they were in their walk.
So I said, "What church do you go to, by the way?" They were like, "Oh, we don't really go to church. We're not really religious." I could tell that they probably were more cultural Christians than in the faith.
Over time I tried to encourage them, said little things, talked about Jesus — though I think sometimes I felt I was a bit too pushy. I prayed for them sometimes, sometimes I forgot to pray for them.
They kept coming to Christian Society, but sometimes they didn't because they'd finish school early and leave. When they left, sometimes it discouraged me — I wished I was running it in a way where people were so hungry to come.
Fast forward to today: they are leading some of the discussions in the Christian Society. I was just like, "God, I feel like I didn't really even do anything." I prayed for them when I remembered, I sought friendship with them — I didn't just talk to them about Christ. I spoke to them about economics, whatever boy problems they had, whatever they were going through.
I texted one of the girls. I said, "I'm so glad to see how far you've come." And she was like, "Thank you so much for pushing me. You're my big sister in Christ, and I've just found so much peace in Jesus."
I'm just flabbergasted. So I want to say: all glory to God, because He really will do a lot with the little. Everything we do, we must just do it in faith — without doubting.
