Faith Through Family Loss · Sunday 26 July 2026

I wanted to share about my cousin, who is in Canada. About four months ago she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour, and it has been a journey with her. A week ago her mum, who is my great aunt, passed away. She lived a full life, she was 89.

The good news is that despite the passing of her mum, my cousin is still proclaiming Jesus Christ. I see that as God's timing in her receiving Him, so that now, at this point in time, she can turn to Him to comfort her through everything that has happened. We were talking, and as much as I felt in my heart to encourage her, somehow I knew she didn't really need it, because she was turning to the Lord. She said as much to me in a voice note the following day. It was such a beautiful message, where she spoke about forgiving her mum, because she went through a lot of trauma. The mere fact that she took her own mouth and said she has forgiven her mum meant so much, because that was something we had discussed in the past, about reconciliation with family members.

I want to give God all the glory and thanks for what He has done, because death is not the end. Adding to that, before her mum died, my cousin prayed and asked her if she was ready to receive Jesus. Her mum moved her head to say yes, because she was not able to speak at that time. It just shows how God is in every situation. I want to encourage all of us that no matter what it looks like, He is always in it. He is always there.

I also want to add that my husband, my son and I went on holiday recently. When you go you don't know what to expect, because there are so many people. We went on a cruise, and I kid you not, we saw so many Christians. You could see them because they were wearing t-shirts with something about Yeshua or Yahweh, and their whole families were with them. There were a lot of families on the cruise. Even as we were going on, there was a couple behind me playing worship music, and we joined in. We had a worship session going onto the ship.

So I give God glory, because we think that we are in the minority. I thought that as a Christian you are in the minority, but we are actually not. I think it is about us being more seen than heard. When you actually look around, like I did, you realise that a lot of people believe in Jesus, just by what they are wearing, or when you say God bless you and somebody responds. So I encourage us to know that Jesus is being preached. People are hearing and knowing about Him. We give God all the glory and praise for that. Amen.
