The Lord Frees Up Time · Sunday 4 October 2026

At work I was given an amazing opportunity. The leadership wanted to launch a big new project, invested a lot into it, and chose me to lead it - which I was really honoured by. Just: wow, God. The only catch was that it would take a lot of time on top of my existing workload, and I just didn't have the time. I'm a single mother, and as parents know, from the moment I get home it's back-to-back until bed. There's no time at all.

So I prayed: Lord, how on earth am I going to make this work? This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in my profession. And I thought - you know what, I'm going to accept it, and I'll find a way to get the extra hours in. I didn't know how. There aren't enough hours in the day. But I'd find a way.

A week later, my landlord - after nine years in the property - told me they wanted to sell, and gave me four months' notice. Great, I thought: just one more thing I need. But then my son's grandparents said: come and stay with us. It had never crossed my mind in a million years. And then I realised - if I do that, I'll have the evenings. They'll help put my boy to bed, give me dinner, all the childcare I need. The Lord had just freed up time I would never have had.

It was only that timing - moving out of my current home - that makes it possible to take on this opportunity. The Lord's always working; he works everything out for us. And as a bonus, I'll save more money too. I just give thanks and praise to God.

✠️ FROM THE WORD
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.

— Romans 8:28 (KJV)

What did the Lord say to you while reading this — and what will you do about it before the week is out?
