Testimony
One little thing. I was led by the Spirit to feed some people on the street. Last Sunday I'd cooked some food — it was quite late — and I felt I need to go, I need to go. So I grabbed the kids, I grabbed the food, and we went to feed people. I just want to say that the outreach works. When I was there talking with them — beautiful people, beautiful — I said something about the church, and one man said, "Oh yeah, I know the guy. There's a brother at church called by name." So well done, church. God is great. People know you, and because they know you, they will know God. It was a wonderful thing to feel that what the church does is actually known. I went again yesterday and met some more people. Then someone else I hadn't recognised said, "Oh yeah, you're the lady from the spaghetti last week, aren't you?" The people on the street are not just forms of bodies and hands. They are real people with real feelings, real stories, real memories. They wait for us. They are in need. They've got Jesus in them. They are our brothers and sisters. We can't just pass by and pretend they don't exist. We're blessed — with food, with shelter, with friends, with jobs, with money. We have to pour those blessings out. We can't be the cup with the lid on; we have to be an overflowing cup. And to be overflowing, you have to give something away to make space to be poured into again. God is wonderful, and when people see us, they should see Jesus.
