Testimony
As someone who didn't grow up with a father, I recognise the gaps that leaves. They are there — and if you grew up without a father and you've not seen them, look for them, so you can deal with them and they don't get passed on to the people around you.
I didn't know I had issues until I reached campus. I'd grown up around church, but I wasn't close to it in that way. Then at campus I met a pastor, and that man taught us who our Father is. I realised how damaged I had been, even though I'd grown up in church. He helped me deal with all that trauma — the things you don't even know are there — and as it lifted, I began to open my heart, to love, and to enjoy Christ. I started to actually see God as a Father — a loving Father.
So today I want to honour the spiritual fathers of this house. They carry us. They are attacked for our sake, because they carry the burdens of the church — they pray for people, people get delivered, and the enemy is not happy about it. Keeping that anointing takes sacrifice, obedience, patience and self-control. I want to thank the fathers here — God bless you and keep you. And if you're a father, don't be tempted to abandon your children. Keep with them, pray for them, wait for them. And when they come home, don't say "I told you so" — just accept them and cover them under your wings. May God keep you all.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.
