My Father Saved · Sunday 31 May 2026

I haven't been to church for a little while, because my dad has been dying and I've been with him. Whenever I had a conversation with him and spoke about the Lord, he was completely not interested — "you've got your beliefs, and everyone's got their own opinion." But over this last month, as I kept seeing him, it came to a crucial point.

I said to a brother from church, "Do you think there's any chance of my dad being saved?" And he said to me, "Look — we serve an almighty God." So we stood outside the hospital, people walking all around us, and the two of us put our hands on each other's shoulders and went into spiritual warfare over my dad. We prayed for his salvation. I said, "This is a long shot, but let's go for it." And my dad accepted the Lord Jesus. This big, hard man prayed the prayer of salvation and said, "I do believe in the Lord."

That is all I ever wanted — that if he has to go, he would just know the Lord Jesus. I was so overwhelmed. All I really want is to encourage the church: there is so much power in prayer.

✠️ FROM THE WORD
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

— John 3:16 (KJV)

What did the Lord say to you while reading this — and what will you do about it before the week is out?
