Testimony
The word I have today is that nothing — nothing — will satisfy us but Jesus. God put this on my heart last night, as I was thinking about how many things I try to make perfect in my life, from myself to my academics, and none of it satisfies. Nothing in this world will satisfy but Jesus.
The way the flesh works — I used to struggle with things like academic validation and the approval of others. The flesh thinks those things will satisfy it, but nothing ever comes close to the presence of the Lord. It took me a long time to realise that. So many times I come into God's presence and think, "This is great," and then I let a hundred little things pull me away from the one thing that truly brings fulfilment — people's approval, people's acclaim. Sometimes I'll try to make the perfect meal, wanting it to be the best ever, and it just ends up in the bin.
There are so many things I don't do anymore, and places I don't go, and people might look and think, "She's so religious." But when you find the satisfaction that comes through Jesus, you just don't mind — everything else becomes tasteless. Knowing this changes how we make decisions: we worry less about the wrong things and pay more attention to the right One. I'm not saying forget about school or work — but when you're overwhelmed by the world and trying to decide, just go back to the place where all the answers are: the presence of God.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.
