Socials Are Outreach · Sunday 31 May 2026

Morning church. I just wanted to thank everybody who came last Sunday, and I'll tell you why — your presence there was really important; it had a big effect. The way I look at our church socials now — bowling, the coast, the farm — is completely different. It's God rewarding us, giving us a bit of a rest and a nice time, but while we're at these events it's also an outreach. We may not realise it, but we're on outreach without even knowing it. We're representing God; the public see us, who we are, and what God has done with us.

By being up at that farm we really impressed the landowner. He has a relationship with the church now — the church can go there pretty much whenever — and that's just the tip of the iceberg; there are hundreds of acres there that could be used. The ice cream man came up; we didn't even speak to him about it, but he saw what was going on. The people who live at the farm saw it too. And I had a friend there as a guest whose heart was very hardened. I'd spoken to him about the Lord numerous times, and it softened — it really opened something in him. Today he wants me to bring him a Bible from the church. It's only a start, but he wants a Bible — and a lot of that came simply from people being themselves, enjoying the Lord, and him watching.

So whether it's the coast, the downs or bowling — wherever we go — look on it as an outreach, because there'll be somebody around who sees us. It will affect them; they'll see the church and how wonderful it all is. When you go on socials you're not just enjoying yourself — we are representing God and his church. That's all I wanted to say — but this man now wants a Bible. It's slow, but it's a start. Hallelujah.

✠️ FROM THE WORD
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

— John 3:16 (KJV)

What did the Lord say to you while reading this — and what will you do about it before the week is out?
